This gorgeous gelding stands 14.1 hands with a refined head and elegant build, featuring the narrow chest and balanced conformation that top endurance horses thrive on for efficient movement, heart/lung capacity, and long mile stamina. Grandy is at the perfect age, he’s physically matured and in peak form to launch into serious conditioning for 25-50 mile races.

He can go all day with a huge motor while being light and quick on his feet. He offers a smooth, ground covering 4-beat rack gait that eats up miles efficiently while keeping you incredibly comfortable in the saddle, this is essential for staying fresh and performing your best over those long distances.

He’s extensively traveled all over Kentucky on countless trail rides, so he loads and hauls like a pro and is no stranger to the road ahead. This surefooted athlete rarely trips or stumbles, he confidently tackles steep inclines, water crossings, bridges, and traffic with ease. He’s also patient with the farrier and vet, making him a true pleasure to care for and campaign.

Grandy is a high energy, forward thinking athlete with a big “let’s go somewhere” attitude (think Ferrari with a saddle). He’s eagerly seeking a job and will thrive with any rider who loves to cover ground and chase big goals. Grandy is also extremely confident riding out on his own and is regularly ridden solo anywhere we take him.

Now you can’t have a horse with this big of a motor without a set of excellent brakes to match. Just sit back, say “whoa,” and he’ll come to a halt for you.

He doesn’t break a sweat easily and is built for those long 25-50 mile days, just like a horse we sold last year named Warpaint, who is currently dominating endurance races out West with impressive wins and Best Condition awards against tough competition (including Arabians!).

Grandy shares all those same standout qualities, stamina, quick recovery, smooth gait, and heart, making him a strong prospect to do the exact same thing right alongside his prior barn mate War Paint.
